Living Room

Balance Beam

Pulp Design Studios helped create symmetry and balance to this client’s asymmetrical Highland Park residence through color and pattern. A grouping of Chariklia Zarris’ Modern Symmetry prints (find them framed and unframed on PulpHome.com) liven up the wall behind the midcentury sofa, which accentuated the Jonathan Adler inspired look this client wanted to achieve.
“It’s colorful without being too in-your-face. We still wanted to achieve a level of sophistication and serenity.” - Beth Dotolo, Pulp Design Studios co-owner & principal interior designer

Living Room Credenza

White Hot

This midcentury-inspired credenza was designed specifically for the homeowner. Both functional & stylish, this piece was created by Pulp designers to hide entertainment components for the room's adjacent wall-mounted television, and stylistically it was intended to serve as a compliment to the client's meaningful art.
"Chapman’s 1938 cottage in West Highland Park is decorated with her favorite photos, including a black and white series of Katharine Hepburn, shot by the late society photographer Andy Hanson, a family friend gave them to her along with valuable advice on the art of portraiture." – Dallas Modern Luxury, Rebecca Sherman interviews Lauren Chapman, client.
It is important part of Pulp Design Studios' philosophy to incorporate meaningful pieces and infuse every space with their client's personality. And, this space does just that. [Photography by Kevin Dotolo]

Splendidly Sophisticated

To balance the home’s colorful living room, the Pulp Design Studios team kept the adjoining dining room more subdued, using elegant hues of gray, white and taupe. [Photography by Kevin Dotolo]

Master Bedroom

In Living Color

“Because we focus on always having a purpose for our designs — meaning not just needlessly spending money on expensive items solely because they’re expensive — we were able to splurge in this bedroom with the custom bed and custom, patterned pillows.” - Beth Dotolo, Pulp Design Studios co-owner & principal interior designer
The custom-designed Bed carries the homeowner’s colorful, quirky style into the bedroom and gave her a playful space of her own.
“I don’t think of myself as a girly-girl, but I really love my girly bedroom,” – Lauren Chapman, client. Dallas Modern Luxury interview

Striking Stripes

This custom pillow, an original Pulp Design Studios creation, pulled all of the colors in the space together and offered a grounding contrast to the feminine florals in the rest of this Master Bedroom. [Photography by Kevin Dotolo]
