5 Easy Tips to Enhance Your Home

Yes, its 2014 and I can’t believe it! A new year always makes people think of how they can improve in many different areas.  Every year I think…How can I easily spruce up my home without breaking the bank?  Here are five quick easy ways to spice up your home without all the fuss.

1. Curb Appeal: The first impression of your home starts with the exterior. Create an inviting sense of entrance by repainting your front door a fun color, changing the exterior numbers or simply add a pair of large decorative planters with some flowers. (image)

2. Textiles: You can easily change up any room by switching out the pillows or drapery panels.  This can be done seasonally by adding lighter textiles for the warmer seasons and heavier ones during the colder seasons.  I just added a sparkly pillow and fur throw to my bed to give it a cozy winter feel.  It’s such a simple way to add texture, color and pattern to any space.

3. Declutter & Rearrange: Take a step back and look at your bookshelves and coffee tables. Have you added to your tchotchke collection over the year?  Have you been piling the magazines on the coffee table or in the corner?  We are all guilty of this…including me.  Clean it up people! Edit your accessories and move them around to different areas.  You can also rearrange your existing furniture to create a totally new look.  This will update your space and it’s free.

4. Decorative Hardware: Give a piece of furniture a face lift with some new unique hardware.  Our Pulp Home Starburst Pulls have been very popular for doors, consoles and cabinets. You can also transform the look of a kitchen or bathroom by switching out the cabinet hardware.

5. Paint or Wallpaper:  Color and pattern can play a huge part in how you feel in a room.  Change a room by painting it a dramatic shade.  Several of our clients have truly enjoyed room transformations in shades of black.  It’s bold and everything pops right off it.  If paint is too much of a hassle, add an accent wall of wallpaper.  This is a simple way to create a focal wall in any room. One of our favorites at Pulp Design Studios is anything from Abnormals Anonymous!
