This coming weekend, I’ll be headed to NYC for Blogfest 2011! I’ll also be meeting with a couple of clients I have in the city… Then Kevin will be coming up & it will be all pleasure about mid-week! I’m so excited! I decided to ask some of my favorite New York City regulars where they love to go. And, I had to share a little something myself.

“One of my newest and most favorite places in NYC would definitely have to be The Top of The Standard, formerly known as The Boom Boom Room. It’s a fabulous bar on the 18th floor of André Balazs’ The Standard Hotel that showcases floor-to-ceiling windows, a sunken bar and banquette seating allow for nearly unobstructed, 360-degree views of Manhattan. Tasty food and amazing cocktail selections seal the deal. Oh and be sure to make a bathroom break for a truly one of a kind experience :)”

“Tres bon French restaurant in the Meatpacking district of NY. Pastis has a great crowd, food, and made famous when it was featured in Sex and The City. Great French breakfast.”

“Freeman’s Alley is a favorite in NYC. Great food. Amazing drinks. Being tucked away in an alley, it’s hard to find. Most importantly, I’ve made great memories with my wife here!”
-Kevin

“I love love love Max Restaurant in the East Village. It’s a must every time I’m in the city. Kevin and I have had some of the best, most intimate, meals at this little spot… And, recognize the name? That’s right. Our son was named, in part, after this great little restaurant. Here’s a picture of my sister and I dining at Max, who I’ll be staying with while I’m in the city.”

Hello, Splendor & Pulp Design Studios
What’s your favorite spot in the city??

Last week I got some exciting Pulp Design Studios news that I’ll announce when I can! But, don’t get too worked up. I think it’s all more happy news for me than for anyone else. The weekend was great… I got a date night with Kevin, I went to a rock show on Saturday, and I had the very best mother’s day on Sunday. Not only did I get that locket I’ve been pining after, but I also got the Clairsonic facial cleanser. But, really, the best gift is my two amazing men. Overall, it was an exciting week & weekend… with lots of looking forward to some exciting new changes in my professional world!
So… How was your weekend??
Mommas how was your Mother’s Day??

One of the best parts about having a blog is being able to drop passive agressive hints about gifts you want… It works on my husband like a charm! Of course, I still haven’t gotten that camera I’ve been wanting. So, here goes…
My Mother’s Day Wishlist:
[learn] I’ve really been wanting to take the Anthony Bourdain Kitchen Basics class at Sur La Table! It’s a bit pricey, so it’s a perfect Mother’s Day splurge.
[capture] Dying for a fancy new camera. I have a photog hubby, but he’s been so busy that I haven’t been getting the ‘work’ out of him that I’ve been wanting. Not a bad problem to have though!
[beautify] Since I’ve been taking steps to take care of my skin a little better now that I’m getting older, I really want the clairsonic cleaning brush. This thing is no joke!
[wear] Love everything by F is for Frank, but I think this cheeky little necklace will make a great addition to my colllection… pretty please?
[work] I really want a new leather portfolio for work to organize my notes & take on appointments. I really like this one, but if you know of another company that has some fancy ones, let me know about it!
What are you getting for your mom this mother’s day??
(I need ideas!)

I just love Cinco De Mayo!! The margaritas, the colorful attire & decor, the celebration of freedom… How could you not love Cinco De Mayo?? Speaking of… there’s a margarita calling my name! Oh, and happy Cinco De Mayo to my business partner, Carolina!!
Do you celebrate Cinco De Mayo?

With Mother’s Day approaching, I can’t help but think of the day that my life changed forever. My amazing little Maxton came into this world in a fury & I can’t imagine my life without this little guy. Watching him grow & change is the best gift I could ever have. He’s the best, most snuggly, funniest, and smartest little man on the planet. Just had to share some pics of my first day as a mom that have been bringing a tear to my eye this week…

I just love him.
And, does this even look like the same kid?? I can’t believe how much he’s changed.
To all the Moms out there, Happy Mother’s Day!

It was a busy busy weekend, but such a great time with my BFF & business partner, Carolina! I really missed Kevin & Max, but made up for it on Sunday when we spent the day together. Dallas weather is rainy and cold right now, so last night I brewed up a batch of homemade French Onion soup for tonight. It just feels good to be with family & cook them a delicious meal.
How was your weekend??
