Thanksgiving Dressing

I don’t know about you, but Thanksgiving is one of my most favorite holidays. Family! Fall! Food! The three f’s that make up some of my life’s greatest pleasures. It’s also a whole day to stop, be present, and count all the good things we have in our life, no matter how big or small.

For many of us, Thanksgiving means travel. (Have you ever looked at this? I’m mildly obsessed with what celebs wear in transit). Staying chic and comfy while shuffling through long security lines, sitting on crowded planes, or taking a road trip might seem a wee bit daunting, but I promise it can be done. Use this as inspiration to start packing!

What’s your Thanksgiving travel essential? Mine? It involves stretchy pants.

ONE: Owl Sweater  // TWO: Gilded Bar Earrings // THREE: Cargo Skinny Jeans // FOUR: Grey Bootie // FIVE: Leather Pouch (perfect for lipsticks and glosses) // SIX: Sunnies // SEVEN: Carry-on tote (my go-to travel bag)  // EIGHT: Driving Loafer // NINE: Scarf

Style Staple: Major Steal Alert!

You’ll soon find out that I love a good bargain. I have a working girl budget and while I’d almost sell my soul for a statement handbag, I like to keep it real for every day style staples.

I was in Target today and found that my favorite black leggings are currently on sale for $5! Yes, $5 people. (Normally $8, but I’ll take my extra $3 where I can get it.) Don’t expect them to last more than one season, so stock up to last through the fall and winter. Wash in cold and hang to dry. Pair them with an oversized sweater and off you go!

Here’s why these are so good: they have an extra wide band. I find they are a little more comfy and have a little more support. They come in long and capri length. For shorties petites like me and Carolina, get the capri and they’ll hit at the ankle. For you blessed people with long legs (aka Beth), get the long length.

I’ve road tested these leggings for the last two years and wanted to share them with you. Let me know if you try them and what you think!

P.S.

THIS JUST IN: shopbop friends and family starts TODAY. Two days only.

Hello, Style!

Hi, everyone! Meet me, millermae, your new Hello, Splendor fashion contributor. I was thrilled when Beth asked me to contribute to Hello, Splendor. I, like you, think Beth and Carolina are two of the most talented (and hilarious!) interior designers you’ll ever meet.

Since this is my first post, I wanted to share a little about me and my fashion approach.

I’m an art director by day and I have a passion for fashion. Like your Pulp-designed home, I feel your wardrobe should be functional and adaptable, but also creative, current, and reflect your individual style. My personal style is part boho, rocker, and western, with a splash of classic thrown in. My style approach is simple …

1. Accessories rule

2. Mix high-low

In the coming months, I’ll be posting about all things fashion, of course. I promise to keep you in-the-know and inspired. Now, I want to get to know you!

The Alexander Wang Rocco is my go-to handbag…

What is your fashion must-have?
