Fig for a Queen.

It’s me,
back on post to bring you simple ways in the kitchen
to make your day {& dining table} all the merrier.

Now I know some of you may already know about figs.
You’ve been loving them for years, and indulge regularly….
but my question to you is,

Why hadn’t you told ME about them?

Figs are amazing.
Like, I want-to-write-a sonnet-about -their-deliciousness amazing.

For anyone else out there that might have been left in the dark,
let me turn on the light for you:
figs are your friend.

And with the help of UK’s leading man in the kitchen,
I’m going to give you an easy way
to set up a spread
 fit for a goddess.

First, buy some soft, purple, pretty figs.

{Figs are really hearty, so 1-2 per person should be plenty.}

Trim off the tiny stem.
Then cut an “X” across the tops of the figs.
Squeeze in the bottoms of the figs gently.
This will make your cut figs “blossom” into gorgeous blossoms.

Place your figs on the serving plate.
{Maybe a rustic wooden cheese board?}

From about a foot above,
drizzle honey over the figs.

{Don’t go crazy. A little goes a long way}

Sprinkle your figs with a tiny pinch of salt,
dash some fresh mint leaves to the mix,
and crack open a bottle of red wine.

And don’t forget to spread the love….
