Q&A
Q: “What’s your design motto?”
Carolina: “I stare at this quote by Steve Jobs that I have on the wall next to my desk everyday and I truly live and breath it… ‘Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.”
Beth: “The best design comes from vulnerability and fearlessness. Embrace your own taste and style and let your personality tell the story.”
Q: “What’s a design rule you love to break?”
Carolina: “First off, you shouldn’t be thinking about rules when designing.”
Beth: “That everything is a color scheme. No house needs a color scheme. The design should be a collection of what a client loves, not something that follows rules.”
Q: “What’s your most desired super power?”
Carolina: “Telekinesis… duh!”
Beth: “Mind reading or intuition.”
Q: “What items are you currently coveting?”
Carolina: “Right now I’m coveting work from Dallas based artist, Jennifer Lashbrook. I saw some of her work at the Ginger Fox Gallery and fell in love! She does these super cool mixed media ‘Swatch Paintings’ by taking individually cut pieces of paint swatch paper and arranging them to create stunning pixilated works of art. I need one!”
Beth: “This amazing pair of leather toe capped oxfords from the Office of Angela Scott. They are to-die-for.”
Q: “What’s the easiest way to transform a room?”
Carolina: “Textiles! It’s amazing what a few new pillows, window treatments and a plush colorful throw can do.”
Beth: “A fresh set of pillows can completely change the look of a space. New textiles are a game-changer.”
