Splendid Dwellings :: A Chesterfield Sofa Re-design

I recently redesigned this amazing chesterfield sofa for a photographer friend in New York… What do you think?? I think it turned out pretty amazing considering it’s past condition! I also managed to sneak in a few custom pillows… He wanted to maintain that vintage look, so I re-worked his piece and gave him a mish-mash of custom pillows that looked collected. 

The sofa meant a lot to him and was way too cool to get rid of. It has a story behind it… for instance, take a look at the roaring 40’s snapshot that he found in the cushion of this sofa from the original owner. He had a large print of this image made for me as thanks for helping him. Don’t you just love a piece with a good story behind it? It’s a good reminder to try to salvage what you have before buying new.
