The Splendid List: What’s your travel necessity?
With summertime travels in full swing, we asked some of our favorite bloggers what their travel necessity is! The bloggers behind Whiskey Mustache, Bows & Sparrows, Luella & June, Courtney Out Loud, & Pulp Design Studios‘ own Carolina V Gentry sounded off. See what our trusted panel’s favorite travel picks are…
WILDCAT of WHISKEY MUSTACHE
“I like to travel with friends, and one old friend is my Izola flask. This little guy fits in all my pockets making traveling light easy. There’s not much better than taking a nip while soaking in sweet God’s creation. Huggs, Wildcat.”
WHY WE LOVE WILDCAT: He’s a distiller of quality images & keeps a constant flow of earthy inspiration right at our fingertips. His blog just makes us want to go on vacation!

ERIN of BOWS & SPARROWS
“A notebook is an absolute must when traveling. When you find yourself immersed in a new culture or place, a travel journal is the perfect place to jot down memories from your trip and stow away small mementos (think ticket stubs, postcards and photos). I find that a travel journal also inspires me to look at my surroundings in a more reflective way. I’m not sure where my next trip will take me, but I’m currently lusting after the Midori Traveler’s Notebook, and I’m thinking it will be accompanying me.”
WHY WE LOVE ERIN: Her innovative blog is full of original & cool content. We love her Closet Case series, where she peeks inside the looks of those who inspire her.

BRADLEY of LUELLA & JUNE
“My travel essentials vary depending on the details of the trip (domestic? international?). However, there are two things that, no matter where I’m headed, always come with me: my iPad and a big scarf. The iPad provides endless entertainment (e-mail, books, magazines, Scrabble – it’s all right there!). I always choose a big, bright scarf to bring with me. The color will instantly add a little something to my travel look, and the size makes it easy to double as a blanket on the plane.”
WHY WE LOVE BRADLEY: Well, since she’s a client we have a soft spot for her. But, that aside, her fashion blog is an authority in taste, trends, and all things wearable.

COURTNEY of COURTNEY OUT LOUD
“I hate carrying multiples of the same thing when I travel, so I searched for the perfect all around bag and found it in the Jack Spade Industrial Canvas Dipped Coal Bag (say that fast three times!). The tote is small enough that it fits under the seat but roomy enough to carry a laptop, power cord, three magazines, one book, sunglasses and a large water bottle. Even though it’s a tote, when packed to the brim with all my travel essentials, the handles are long enough to slip over my shoulder freeing my hands to gesture wildly at counter agents over late flights. In addition, since the bag is dipped in rubber latex, it is waterproof making it the perfect companion to the beach!”
WHY WE LOVE COURTNEY: Our tweep is the epitome of cute, fun, and honest. We love his frank take on all things life & design… Oh, and did we mention he’s cute?

CAROLINA of PULP DESIGN STUDIOS
“The airplane is a dry and dirty place. I keep my skin moisturized and comfortable by applying a hand salve regularly throughout my flight. Beth thinks I’m crazy, but you’ve got to keep those hands looking young. I also like to snuggle up to a scarf to keep warm and fashionable. Layering can be a girl’s best friend, especially when traveling!”
WHY WE LOVE CAROLINA: She’s a human encyclopedia of all things fashion & design… and let me tell you, she has an opinion about every single one of them.
