Pulp Design Studios Dallas Showhouse Credenza, how to style an entry, credenza, interior design tips

5 Items To Completely Transform Your Entryway

No space in the home should be forgotten. We demonstrated just the impact a well-designed entry can make in home with our Traditional Home Dallas Showhouse space. The dramatic look of our entry credenza comes down to these five items…

The Expert Guide to Styling an Entry Credenza

1. Lighting. A table lamp creates stylistic flair, ambiance and functionality. Plus, you’ll have a little light for navigation during late arrivals or early departures.

2. Artistic Catch-All.  Any time you are presented with a storage challenge, you have to make it stylish. Opt for an artistic and interesting bowl to store your keys, wallet, priorities– you name it.

3. Personality Filled Books. No surface is complete without the perfectly curated coffee table book stack to show off your passions. Check out our picks for every personality to create that quintessential stack.

4. Bold Artwork. Nothing says “well-designed” like artwork. The entry sets the bar for style and personality throughout the home. Bottom line– get the art. The ambiance in your home will thank you.

5. Textiles, textiles, textiles. Rugs and drapery with textural and eye-catching patterns create layers of dimension and soften hard architectural edges. Draw the curtains for privacy, or leave them wide-open to show off the entryway all your neighbors will be lusting over.

Extra Credit. We’re all guilty of turning to look in the mirror just one last time before stepping into the world to debut the day’s fashion and makeup choices. If you don’t have a spot for a mirror, use an easel to prop up a mirror for those final confidence checks.

five things that impacted our week, eve restaurant, eames: beautiful details coffee table book, tompkins lloyd, iluminage eye mask, textiles

5 Things That Will Make Your Weekend

NOURISH

Our Seattle team recently discovered this delectable and artful cafe in Seattle’s Fremont neighborhood. Tasteful decor and healthy, mouth-watering plates made Eve or new favorite lunch spot.

REVITALIZE

Let’s be real ladies, we’re all doing everything we can to keep the wrinkles to a minimum. The iluminage rejuvenating eye mask is our go-to for a little youthful revitalization and relaxation.

INSPIRE

Tompkins Lloyd deserves a round of applause for their opulent living room design in the Traditional Home Dallas Showhouse. We loved getting to spend time with another design duo during the Showhouse events and are so happy to share the amazing work they did.

EXPRESS

Every home needs a collection of personality-infused coffee table books. Our undeniable favorite this week is the Eames: Beautiful Details book, which found its home in an install for clients who both have creative professions.

CREATE

We just received a sample of the Les Rizieres textile by Brunschwig & Fils and our entire team went googley-eyed. This pattern is bound to make it’s way into one of our projects…

Happy weekend!

Home Tour: Traditional Home Dallas Showhouse

The moment we’ve all been waiting for…

We feel so honored to have completed our second showhouse with Traditional Home and are absolutely elated to finally take you on a tour of the completed space. An entry and staircase inspired by our vision of a well-traveled and hip homeowner, we infused every inch of this space with Pulp flair. Get the scoop on this bold space…

Q. WHAT IS THE STORY BEHIND THE DESIGN?

See the story behind this unforgettable design experience…

Q. WHO IS THE CLIENT AND HOW DID THEY FIND PULP?

We completed our first showhouse for Traditional Home in Napa Valley in the fall of 2016 and jumped at the opportunity to design for the very first one in Dallas. Pulp was born in Dallas so participating in the Traditional Home Showhouse here was a must.

Q. WHAT WAS THE CLIENT’S PROJECT SCOPE?

Being that everything really is bigger in Texas, this double-volume space was architecturally grand and ready to be transformed with the Pulp touch. The entry is the place that sets the tone for the rest of the home, so we wanted to create a space that welcomed guests in with boldness and flair.

Traditional Home Dallas Showhouse

Q. WHAT WAS THE MOST DRAMATIC TRANSFORMATION?

The grass clothing wallcovering by Bridget Beari is, without a doubt, the most dramatic and bold element of this space. It creates texture, dimension and interest and is an impossible-to-forget statement wall. After seeing the transformation the wallcovering made after it was installed, it’s hard to believe those walls were once all white!

Traditional Home Dallas Showhouse

Q. CAROLINA, WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF THIS SPACE?

There is a lot to see in this space– the graphic wallcovering, striking light fixtures and mixture of contrasting textiles give the space a highly-curated maximalist feel. I love that it’s super modern and daring, but still radiates luxury. It’s the perfect example of bold design resulting in a collected and refined space.

Traditional Home Dallas Showhouse

Q. BETH, WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF THIS SPACE?

I love how the textiles, wallcovering and dynamic accessories come together to create such palpable energy. Every piece in this space has some eye-catching quality, whether subtle or bold, adding layers of contrast. My absolute favorite part of this space is the way visitors can really feel the movement and moxie of the design.

We feel so lucky to have participated in such an incredible project filled with so much design talent that helps benefit the Alzheimer’s Association. If you are in the Dallas area, the Showhouse is open for tours until October 22– it’s an experience not to be missed! Join in the quest to End Alzheimer’s and purchase your tickets here.
