Everyone on the Pulp Design Studios team has their own personality and sense of style. Since Spring is just around the corner, we wanted to share our picks for some fashionable spring getaway essentials to tote around this upcoming season. Because, whether your hanging out pool side or the at beach you always want to be stylish!
I just love a touch of tribal in a space. Whether it be a decorative pillow, a piece of furniture, jewelry or home accent, adding a little piece here and there will give you and your place an eclectic vibe.
New Years Eve is over but I still have champagne on the mind. Maybe it’s because I still have some left over bottles and I don’t want them to go to waste. When in doubt go with a classic Menning Mimosa which is a great pair to any brunch. This gorgeous Maya Armchair from Brabbu reminds me of that sweet cocktail with its golden velvet and channel upholstered back. Perfect to snuggle up in to read a book or sip champagne.
What are you doing with your leftover bottles of bubbly?
Happy New Year everyone! Which also means…back to reality as in work, diet and exercise. After the holidays and eating like a beast it’s time to detox and think about the dreaded upcoming swimsuit season. I’m sure you have “eat healthier” on your resolutions list…I know I do. Here are some yummy salads to help jump start your post holiday detox.
The cold finally hit Dallas for good this time and I’m thinking velvet upholstery and coffee flavored cocktails! This B52 cocktail (well it’s technically a shot) triple layered with irish cream, coffee liquor and cointreau will keep you warm from the inside out. Such a great compliment to Shine’s tall sexy Lolita Chair shown here in a shimmery winter velvet which is sure to be a major show stopper in any room.
Winter is on its way and I love to get my soup on this time of year. Here are 5 of my favorite go to soups on a chilly day.
1.) Neiman Marcus Northpark Tortilla Soup (This is in the NM Cookbook if you don’t have it…go get it. I would add the cream and cheese as the recipe instructs in the book. Most of the recipes online have been altered.)
If you’re into eastern flair, the Chinese Lantern Festival is a must see! I was lucky to catch it during its first run in Dallas during the State Fair of Texas. And, since it received rave reviews they decided to extend its stay until 2013. If you’re in Dallas and missed it the first time around, try and catch it before it heads out of town. It was truly an unbelievable showcase of lights featuring elaborate displays of Chinese myth and history. Take the kiddos…its family friendly!
Everyone loves the Fall season in Dallas! The Texas heat starts to simmer down and the State Fair of Texas comes to town for all to enjoy. Needless to say, the fair went out with a big bang this year! Big Tex burst into flames on the closing weekend leaving a sad empty spot surrounded by news vans where he once stood so tall waving and greeting everyone enjoying the festivities. It was sad for all but it didn’t stop anyone from having a good time the remainder of the weekend. We munched out on some of the 2012 winning foods, watched a farmer carve a pumpkin faster than I could ever imagine, checked out some creepy reptiles and of course enjoyed some fun rides. So glad we didn’t take a ride on the Stratosphere this year…it got stuck right before we decided to call it quits for the day! Sitting 200 feet up in the air on a swing for several hours doesn’t sound like much fun to me.
Can’t wait for next year!
What was your favorite attraction at the State Fair this year?
I’m always looking for new ways to keep my home clean without harmful nasty smelling chemicals that won’t break the bank. I know there are many great options on the market but sometimes I feel like I’m just paying for the pretty bottle and packaging. After testing many of the organic brands out there…I decided to search for a homemade alternative. Well, I found one I’ve been using for about two years now and I love it! It’s super easy to make with items you probably already have laying around your home.
As everyone knows I’ve been getting ready for Halloween and have been obsessed with pinning, tagging and tearing pages out of magazines for any kind of inspiration. I thought it was fitting to feature Kartell’s Philippe Stark Louis Ghost Chair and this fun creepy cocktail. Both are perfect for Halloween! Remember this holiday is not just for kids, sometimes adults like to have some Halloween fun too!
