objects of splendor | erica weiner jewelry

Our latest Object Of Splendor comes in the form of Erica Weiner Jewelry! My love for Erica Weiner began when I was gifted two brass cuff necklaces from my great friend and my boyfriend (now husband) years ago. My loved ones knew me well & it still remains one of my favorite pieces that gets the most comments! A few years later, my hubby bought me the same necklace in gold (upgrade)! When he visits NYC he picks me up pieces now and then at the shop. The latest is the bee necklace pictured above!

One of the main reasons I love Erica Weiner’s line (aside from the unique and creative styles) is the varying price points. You can pick up a gorgeous heirloom or a simple gift for a friend.

You must go visit the online shop for some amazing finds… After all, gift season is fast approaching!

Happy Halloween!

fang cookies, halloween cookies

Happy Halloween, friends!!

I hope you had a fantastic weekend, filled with goul-ish cocktails and tons of sweets… This weekend, I channeled my inner Martha and made some vampire sugar cookies (although, box cookie mix & a fang cookie pan from Target hardly reach Martha standards)! Either way, it was fun to be in the kitchen! (and, that cookie pan will come in handy when I throw a Twilight Breaking Dawn party – I know, I’m 14 at heart) We’re off to trick-or-treat later with Mr. Potato Head!

Hope your Halloween is a blast!

bits & baubles… links for your fab autumn weekend!

miniature smores, s'mores recipes

• Ok, I clearly have a soft spot for s’mores. (and, by soft spot, I mean the one by my waistline)

• These antlers are insane.

• Just commissioned one of my favorite illustrators for one of our favorite clients!

• Who’s watching Grimm tonight?

• While I’m watching it, I’ll be drinking this to nurse my cold!

This weekend, I’ll be enjoying this weather & resting (finally!) after a lot of hard work and traveling.

Hope you have a great weekend!! Anyone got fun Halloween plans??

Please Touch!

Please Touch, Philadelphia Museum, Children's Museum, Kids Activities

The Please Touch Museum in Philadelphia (my hometown) is absolutely the coolest place I’ve taken Maxton to yet! It is a huge two-level indoor children’s museum that is completely interactive for your child. Every thing is safe, fun, and touchable which allows you a place to let your child run free without constantly saying ‘No, no, no’. Last week I went home to see my family in Philadelphia, when my sister and I (and Kevin) took our boys to Please Touch and it was an absolute blast!! Take a look at our fun day at the museum. I think the photos say it all… (and how cute are those two little cousins??)

Is there a place in your town for kids that is a must-visit??

Design*Sponge comes to Dallas

Last week Grace Bonney from Design*Sponge came to West Elm Dallas for a book signing for her new book Design*Sponge at Home. The event was sort of a blogger reunion of sorts! We were in and out pretty quick, but it was good to see some of our blogger friends while we were there. We just had to post some pics from the Smile Booth… Check out me & Carolina with our friends, Laura, Kyla, & Rachel.

I seem to have my gun pointed at Carolina in most of the pictures… we may be spending too much time together. (love you, mean it)

bits & baubles: links for your weekend

  • The braid bandwagon… I’m hoping on that one, for sure!
  • Seriously? S’mores cupcakes. This is going to happen in my kitchen.
  • I am totally smitten with these necklaces!
  • I so wish I had the patience for this!
  • It’s time to start thinking of Christmas cards… These are calling my name!

Hope everyone has a fab weekend! I’ll be in my hometown of Philly this weekend.

What are your plans??

splendid little ones | mr. potato head halloween costume

mr potato head halloween costume, cool toddler costume, great toddler costumes

See… I told you I’d still torture you with cute pictures of Maxton! I can’t help myself. This past weekend, we took our annual trip to the arboretum for family pictures in the pumpkin patch. This year Max is going as Mr Potato Head. And, let me tell you… he loves his costume. Don’t try to take it off of him! How cute is he??

If you want to get this costume for your little one, it’s not too late!
Mr Potato Head Costume: The parts are interchangeable so it can be a Mr or Mrs!
Green Hat: The costume came with a Mrs Potato Head hat, so we ordered the ball cap separately.

So, who’s dressing up this year?? What are some of the best costumes you’ve seen?

Big News for Hello, Splendor!! (and a heartfelt confession)

Beth Dotolo Carolina Gentry

I’ve got big news for Hello, Splendor!!

As usual, I won’t spare any details in how I came to announce this news.

First off, I must tell you that this decision did not come lightly… It began with me feeling torn between three loves: my family, my business, and my blog. I really felt that just one had to give. And, by doing it ALL I felt like I was disappointing everyone. I can’t drop my family (though, the collection of diapers and dishes makes it tempting). I can’t ditch my business (though, there would be something freeing about living on the streets). So, naturally, it felt that Hello, Splendor was what had to give. I was tortured with all the friends I’ve made and all the work and love I’ve put into this little blog. It means so much to me, as does the relationships I’ve made from it. When I finally came to heartbreaking terms with shutting down my precious little blog… I just couldn’t do it. And, then it hit me…

Get some help!

So, from that, I decided to bring on my best friend and trusted business partner, Carolina V Gentry. She’s the only person, aside from my husband, that I trust completely and that shares the same vision I have.

In the next few weeks we will be making the transition to make Hello, Splendor the official blog of Pulp Design Studios! (After all, it’s all of you that helped Pulp become so successful… I have to thank YOU for that!)

There are some exciting things coming with this change:

1. You’ll see new design columns with a more editorial approach, covering all facets of interior design, fashion, and lifestyle authored by both me and Carolina. (Don’t worry, I’ll still torture you with shamelessly cute photos of Maxton from time to time.)

2. We’ll be inviting contributors on board more often to get back to that community feel that Hello, Splendor was founded on.

3. A complete redesign coming in the next couple months!

4. And, wait for it…. a PARTY to launch the re-design!

I must thank you for all your support and I really hope you enjoy the new and improved Hello, Splendor… It will be a slow transition that will unfold before your eyes, just how this blog came to grow in the first place. I’m so grateful to have you all be a part of my little blog!

Now, please welcome my nearest & dearest real life friend… Carolina!!
