Introducing Pulp Design Studios for S. Harris
the inspiration behind Pulp’s licensed collection of globally-inspired and functional textiles
Introducing Pulp Design Studios for S. Harris
Pop the champagne because our first licensed collection is here! We are so thrilled to announce the Pulp Design Studios for S. Harris capsule collection. We’ve been working tirelessly over the past year to create this collection and are so happy to finally share what we’ve been keeping so secret…
Pulp Design Studios for S. Harris Textile Collection
It’s a huge honor and certainly an unforgettable career moment to have worked with S. Harris for our very own licensed collection. It’s no secret that Pulp is crazy about both S. Harris and statement textiles, so to have our own line that exemplifies everything we love about interior design is nothing short of amazing! We’ve used S. Harris for our clients and projects for our entire careers and cannot wait to see how our industry friends use our collection in their spaces.

The two dreamy spaces you’re looking at are the sets we were inspired to design with our textiles! The Modern Kismet lounge is a Moroccan inspired space filled from wall-to-wall with our the globally-inspired statement textiles in our line.
The Penthouse Bedroom Suite draws inspiration from a vision of an adventurous Parisian retreat where travel is loved and fashion is key.

We can’t wait to see how people use our fabrics in their spaces! The collection is available to both trade and consumers, so start shopping! If you’re a designer, be sure to check out our wholesale page for more information!
First Look at a Modern Mediterranean Laredo Home In Progress
As part of our Three-Step Design Process, we are taking you on a tour through projects that are currently in progress. We love getting to share in inside look at who we’re working with, why they wanted to hire an interior designer and how we are working with our clients to create forever spaces that elevate the way they live.
Step One: Consultation + Intake

Q: WHO IS THE CLIENT AND WHAT IS THEIR SCOPE OF WORK?
We’ve been working with this client for years on projects ranging from her Lakehouse Retreat to personal office at work. With a busy schedule, she wanted a professional approach to design when she initially brought Pulp on and has been coming back ever since!
Our client called us in to help from the very beginning of this particular project, involving us during her search for houses. We were able to step in and lend our design eye to determine which home was best to create everything she dreamed the completed space would be. This project is a complete renovation, including interior and exterior paint, appliances, reconfigured floor plans, finishes and furnishings. We’ve got our hands full!

Q: WHY DID THE CLIENT DECIDE TO HIRE AN INTERIOR DESIGNER RATHER THAN TAKING THE PROJECT ON THEMSELVES?
Our client has used us before on projects ranging from residential to commercial, so she knows we’ll be able to do the job right, do it well and make it look dang good. This client is based in Laredo so part of why she uses us is our amazing sources in Dallas. We do all the design work and selections in Dallas and have everything sent to Laredo for install!
Step Two: The Design Phase
Here’s where we took everything we learned from our clients at our consultation and intake process and put all that information and our creativity to work for our clients. We started really getting to know who they are, their vision of their home and how they tend to “do life” in each room. Then we started by gathering inspiration from our clients in the form of a Pinterest board and began to collaborate on the design between our offices.

Q: WHAT IS THE INSPIRATION BEHIND THE NEW DESIGN?
This home is going to be a light, fresh home with a taste of California Farmhouse. It’s a Mediterranean house that we’re giving a casual, coastal feel through bright whites, brass, great artwork and a blend of stunning antiques and contemporary pieces.

Q: WHAT WAS A UNIQUE DESIGN CHALLENGE AND HOW IS PULP SOLVING THE PROBLEM?
The entry of the existing space was really dark. The whole house is brick, so we painted everything white and added these giant mirrors with sconces to brighten the space. The new paint alone was transformative and the mirrors help exaggerate the natural light, making the entire space much brighter.

Step Three: Install + Execution
This project is in the midst of construction and renovation! Stay tuned and follow along for more as this project progresses! The installs are bound to be amazing!

Nothing says Happy Monday like Starburst Pulls!
The Starburst Pulls were originally designed as a custom piece for one of Pulp’s interior design clients. We loved them so much we decided to have them manufactured and after years of them being a best-seller on our site, we launched a matte collection in February 2018! We love seeing our pulls used in an array of styles and thought we’d share the love by doing a giveaway.

Behind The Scenes of our Handsome Seattle High-Rise Design Install
Behind-the-Scenes of an Interior Design Transformation
February felt like National Install Month at Pulp as furnishings found their new homes at a few of our current interior design projects. First off the list, our Handsome High-Rise project! We installed wallcovering at this project in January and were beaming to finally bring the complete design to life with the phase two install. Our client has officially moved in and is in love with his home!
CONTROLLED CHAOS STARTS THE DAY

THE 411
WHO IS THE CLIENT?
Our client recently purchased this high-rise condo in Downtown Seattle and was ready to invest in a space that he would be proud to enjoy each day and share with friends and loved ones. During our initial consultation, we learned that he wanted his home to feel hotel-like, so to the drawing boards we went to create a livable, escape-like home!
WHAT IS THE SCOPE OF WORK?
We selected wallcovering for the entry, ceiling, living room and master and designed furnishings for the entire apartment. Because of the size of the space, we designed each room to be equally beautiful and luxurious as our client would be spending a lot of time throughout his home.

CUSTOMIZE YOUR TEXTILES
We had these pillows customized for our client and they turned out AMAZING! We love going custom whenever we can because it allows us to give our client something that no one else has and that’s perfectly made to their style. Plus, the first time we saw this Stroheim trim and S. Harris fabric we knew we had to use them in a project.

INSTALL DAY, COMPLETE!
Whew! This install went off without a hitch! We’re still waiting on a few pieces to arrive, but we couldn’t be happier with the result. The best part? Our client was blown away when he saw it for the first time!

GO BOLD WITH WALLCOVERING
We love bringing our clients into the world of uniquely bold design with an eye-catching wallcovering — the days of dated florals plastered on your grandma’s walls are long gone. Wallcovering is a great way to express personality and personal style. See 5 of our favorite masculine wallcoverings…

10 Interior Design Trends We Can’t Get Enough Of
The Top 10 Design Trends in March 2018
February was full of project kickoffs, installs and design travel so we couldn’t be more excited to be heading into March going full throttle. Our eyes are always on the lookout for the latest and greatest in the design world for our interior design clients and we’ve spotted a few things that we just can’t get enough of…

Starting off the March 2018 Pulp Edit strong is our friend Kati Curtis‘ opulent and utterly divine DXV Design Panel design. We love a globally inspired interior, especially when it’s reminiscent of a luxurious North African Hammam.

We take every home need as an opportunity to add a splash of luxury to our interior design clients’ spaces, which is exactly why we have been loving the marble tech accessories from Native Union. Keeping you charged, and looking good while doing it!

We love when artists take ordinary spaces and turn them into works of art. This vibrant and modern mural by Jessie and Katey makes an otherwise unextraordinary building a piece of art that can be enjoyed by any passerby.

Designing with a flair for unexpected is a Pulp signature, so when we saw this unapologetically colorful space photographed by Francois Dischinger for Architectural Digest, we couldn’t help but fall in love. There really is no better time than now to be fearless with your interiors…

Eye-catching accessories will always make the Pulp favorites list, especially when they are as creative and cool as these trays from the genius St. Frank x Sally King Benedict collaboration.

Did anyone else totally swoon over Jennifer Aniston’s breathtaking home photographed by Francois Dischinger, or was that just us? We love how collected and warm her spaces feel.

Matte black and brass has been a leading trend in the design industry for a minute, but our eyes are all on brass and malachite. This combination of rich tones makes this bowl feel like a hidden interior design treasure we’re sure glad we found.

Art and accessories are so much more than the average finds. We have been all about using unexpected finds, like this tortoise shell featured in Elle Decor, as means to bring personality to life in our designs.

Okay, how could you not add a pool this amazing to your list of favorite trends? We love seeing people go all out with their amenities and would love to take a dip in the pool ourselves… This captivating space was photographed by Filippo Bamberghi for Interior Design Homes.

We love conceptualized photographic series, especially when they are as interesting and unique as Matthew Rolston’s collection of commentary on modern portraiture. We’re always here for innovative creative works!
And with that, Happy March! What trends have you been loving recently?
