The Benefits of Hiring an Interior Designer: Ensuring a Unique Design

Dallas Design Center, Trade only, sourcing, vendors, interior design, dallas interior designers, benefits of hiring an interior designer

Today we’re taking you behind the scenes in the first of a series of posts on the benefits of hiring an interior designer, specifically, Pulp Design Studios.  Last week two of our designers, Abby Shehan and Tracy Wurzburg, took the trade-only Dallas Design Center by storm, gathering inspiration and sourcing gorgeous new goods for our lucky Pulp Design Studios’ clients.

Our designers’ ability to visit trade-only showrooms & design centers and attend industry events like High Point Market is just one way we ensure the best quality, value and unique style for our clients.

THE BENEFITS OF WORKING WITH PULP DESIGN STUDIOS:

Ensuring a Unique Design

1.  OUR CLIENTS GET TRADE-ONLY GOODS AT A DISCOUNT OFF OF RETAIL

Something you may not know… Many design firms use a ‘cost-plus’ pricing structure, often resulting in clients paying above retail price for products.   Pulp Design Studios, on the other hand, uses a ‘retail-less’ pricing structure, and has invested in building relationships that allow us to bring clients amazing trade-only products at prices below retail, resulting in savings that often pays for the design service itself!

2.  NEW AND EXCITING PRODUCTS FOR OUR CLIENTS

We love a great find.  Pulp is constantly sourcing new vendors and products to enliven our designs, making them dynamic and unique.

3.  WE EXPECT the highest quality and INTEGRITY FROM OUR VENDORS

Our standards are high.  Pulp maintains strong relationships with trusted vendors to ensure the best quality and service for our clients.

4.  NO NEED TO WORRY ABOUT KEEPING UP WITH THE JONESES

Our designs are anything but cookie cutter.  Pulp sources one-of-a kind products to ensure that each project is unique and reflects the individuality and needs of the client.

5.  ENSURING a timeless design

We have a great trained eye.  Pulp is constantly researching what’s fresh and new in the world of design.   Our designers have the skills and knowledge to take the latest trends and translate them into a timeless design with lasting style for our clients.

For our new #PrestondaleResidence project, the Pulp Design Studios team is focusing on introducing color and texture into this already masculine home.  As you can see in the schematic presentations above, these are the perfect details to draw you in, adding layers of warmth and interest.  The result is sure to be enduringly appealing.

With projects like #PrestondaleResidence in the pipeline, it is an exciting time at Pulp Design Studios.  The Dallas and Seattle office spaces can accommodate larger presentations and with the expansion of the Senior Design Team, Pulp Design Studios is poised and ready to take on new whole home and commercial projects.

Happy Weekend!

Co-owner and Principal Interior Designer Beth Dotolo is headed to Dallas for a week of team meetings, strategy sessions, CEU credits and showroom visits with the rest of the Pulp Design Studios team.  Don’t worry, it won’t be all work and no play.  In addition to a cocktail party to celebrate the growth of Pulp Design Studios, the senior design team will also be getting new head shots taken!

And before the week’s work begins, both Beth and Carolina are excited to be featured speakers at The Hundred Event, sharing their insight on how to craft and refine an online presence and message.  Pulp Design Studios is looking forward to this unique opportunity to collaborate and network with fellow bloggers and business owners.  Follow their  weekend whereabouts on Instragram, here and here.

Back in Seattle, the Pulp team plans to spend the weekend continuing to explore their new neighborhood, hitting up the Ballard Art Walk and famous Sunday Farmers Market.  You never know where your next source of inspiration will be!

Celebrating Pulp Design Studios’ New Seattle Office

It’s hard to believe August is just a day away.  Summer has flown by with a flurry of activity in the Pulp Design Studios’ Dallas and Seattle offices.

If you follow us on Instagram you’ve likely taken note of the Seattle office’s gorgeous new digs. Beth and the rest of the Seattle team are thrilled with their new space and location.  The large windows, high ceilings, exposed brick and steel beams serve as a perfect backdrop for the clean and modern workspace.  The team has been adding final finishing touches, incorporating gorgeous pieces from the PulpHome.com collection.  Of course the pièce de résistance is the oh so glamorous chandelier that illuminates the central conference table, an ideal spot for client presentations, team meetings and impromptu cocktail hours.  Knowing such a beautiful space is waiting for you really does make going to work each morning an absolute pleasure.  You just can’t help but feel inspired!

To celebrate the new office space, as well as Co-Owner and Principal Interior Designer Carolina V Gentry’s visit to the Northwest, the Pulp team enjoyed an evening of sips and light bites.  A personal fave was Beth’s signature summer drink.

It’s five o’clock somewhere, go fix yourself a drink and join us in toasting the Pulp Design Studios’ team. CHEERS!

Work In Progress: #Mantlebrook Before & After Painting

We’ve said it before, but, we’ll say it again… The power of paint is amazing! We started working with our Pulp Design Studios clients at our #Mantlebrook project a couple of years ago. We had the chance to help renovate their kitchen and we are now starting up on other rooms in the house. The painting in the Formal Living Room was recently completed and we just had to pop in and share…

Can you believe the difference!? It’s night and day… The white paint is so much more fresh and much needed. Obviously, we still need to get our hands on the space and are working on the furnishings and some additional paint updates around the fireplace. But, it’s just a breath of fresh air that we’ve been waiting a couple of years to see! So happy to have clients who trust us when we say “paint the brick” or “paint the wood”. It’s such a hard commitment, but so worth it.

Work In Progress: #UniversityHeights Dining Room Design Progress

We at Pulp Design Studios are currently working on a residence in Dallas, our #UniversityHeights project, and things are trucking along… We wanted to pop in to show you some sneak peeks from the Dining Room progress we’ve made so far!

We’ve still got more layers to add, but we love the eclectic and layered look that is beginning to develop so far!

Before & After: #PrestonwoodModern Fireplace Cladding

We recently had a client turn to our team at Pulp Design Studios with a design dilemma. Among other things, their fireplace was falling flat in their space. At our #PrestonwoodModern project we reworked this floor-to-ceiling fireplace wall and gave it a new stone facelift.

This gorgeous new cladding and other additional touches really added a bit of contrast and luxuriousness to the space. We love the simplicity of it, while still providing some natural texture.

#pulpathome: Black & White Suri Boxes

Since we saw these black and white inlay boxes at High Point Furnishing Market, we’ve been obsessed! We’ve since stocked up our Pulp Home inventory with these stunning boxes, and of course had to snag some for ourselves! See how our co-owners, Beth & Carolina, both used them in their own homes…
