Pulp Work In Progress: Pretty Little Bathroom Details
We’ve been working on an amazing home renovation in Laredo to bring an incredibly beautiful one-of-a-kind 70’s style architectural home up-to-date for our modern family. The goal for our Pulp Design Studios client is livable modern warmth with an eclectic flair… But, before we get to the furniture, art, and accessories, we’re hammering out the architectural finishes and details on the jobsite. Before + After: Ponder Modern Master Bedroom
We’ve been getting lots of requests to see ‘Before’ photos of our interior design work! It’s hard to see a newly designed space and imagine how it would apply to you or to your life. So, we’ve decided to start doing more of our ‘Before and After’ posts so that you can see how some unassuming and ordinary rooms have been transformed into spaces that reflect the individual style of each of our clients, all while functioning splendidly for each of their lifestyles!
What started as a simple space that was not at all reflective of our client’s stylish and vibrant personality, is now a haven that she can turn to each day for relaxation and to set the tone for her day.
We played with the layout of the space and moved the open desk (complete with messy papers and work) to the other side of the room. We gave our client a concealed secratary-style desk that would allow her to close down her work and conceal the mess.
We also reupholstered her existing chairs to make them pop and exude our client’s happy personality.
This transformation helps showcase how a run-of-the mill room can be transformed with a keen design eye, a bit of clever repurposing, and thought behind how our client and homeowner functions. This simple bit of styling (we didn’t even paint!) made a world of difference on this budget project.

Before + After: Queen Anne Craftsman Dining Room
‘Transformation’ is one of the most amazing things about what we do at Pulp Design Studios… A lackluster room can be transformed into your favorite space in the house with a keen eye and great design talent. We shared with you recently that a project we are working on, our Queen Anne Craftsman Residence, was recently featured in Seattle Magazine. We are not complete with the project yet, but we love that we caught the editor’s eye on our instagram account and were able to allow them into the home to see the progress we’ve made so far.
One of our favorite transformations is the Dining Room! Take a look at what we did with the space…
Quite the transformation, don’t you think!? We brightened the entire space and made it more useable and functional for this family who entertains in their home, including using wipeable and cleanable fabrics. That’s right, this dining room is more than just a pretty face… It’s designed for our client’s lifestyle!

Pulp Sourcebook: #Cowtown Chic Guest Bedroom
Interior Design by Pulp Design Studios
In today’s Sourcebook series entry, we’re highlighting one of Pulp Design Studios’ #Cowtown Chic Guest Bedrooms. With the design team’s background in hospitality and hotel design, Pulp Design Studios selected just the right mix of color, furnishings and accessories to create a beautiful and relaxing stay for any guest.
By selecting a cool gray wall color and contrasting with bold orange and turquoise accents, Pulp Design Studios kept the space from feeling too ethereal. Creating custom designed pieces and redesigning special heirlooms made this space truly unique and individual to the client.

Pulp Design Studios is creating interest and drama in this #BeaconHillContemporary residence by layering moody shades of gray, pewter and onyx with splashes of metallics and natural wood elements. We’re at the stage of selecting and adding the finishing touches and accessories, and in some cases exercising restraint in keeping things simple. For our new #PrestondaleResidence project, the Pulp Design Studios team is focusing on introducing color and texture into this already masculine home. As you can see in the schematic presentations above, these are the perfect details to draw you in, adding layers of warmth and interest. The result is sure to be enduringly appealing.
With projects like #PrestondaleResidence in the pipeline, it is an exciting time at Pulp Design Studios. The Dallas and Seattle office spaces can accommodate larger presentations and with the expansion of the Senior Design Team, Pulp Design Studios is poised and ready to take on new whole home and commercial projects.

What are you up to this weekend?
Co-owner and Principal Interior Designer Beth Dotolo is headed to Dallas for a week of team meetings, strategy sessions, CEU credits and showroom visits with the rest of the Pulp Design Studios team. Don’t worry, it won’t be all work and no play. In addition to a cocktail party to celebrate the growth of Pulp Design Studios, the senior design team will also be getting new head shots taken!
And before the week’s work begins, both Beth and Carolina are excited to be featured speakers at The Hundred Event, sharing their insight on how to craft and refine an online presence and message. Pulp Design Studios is looking forward to this unique opportunity to collaborate and network with fellow bloggers and business owners. Follow their weekend whereabouts on Instragram, here and here.
