Pro Tips for Rethinking Wallpaper

Wallpaper is a go-to for adding bold design in a home’s decor and that’s why it’s a staple for Pulp-designed spaces. But, just like with most interior design elements, we don’t stick with the basics. We always want to mix things up, so we have some great ideas for rethinking wallpaper and how you use it in your home!

Wallpaper as an Art Installation

So many wallpaper patterns can be customized to fit a design vision. Snakes can be moved to surround a sconce. Colors can be changed to fit a room’s palette. And a beautiful piece of art can be crafted, too! In the Kips Bay project above, we customized a design from Calico Wallpaper so it looks as if gold paint is dripping from the ceiling. We love the gorgeous result!

Wallpaper as a Textural Chameleon

We love to create moments that cause conversations. Like – is it wood or is it wallpaper? In the Seattle home above, we selected a textural design that fools the eye. It also creates a calming oasis for our fabulous clients in their primary bedroom.

Wallpaper as a Fearless Style

We said that Pulp loves bold design, and that’s no different on the walls. Wallpaper can envelop a room and create a stunning style that’s absolutely like nothing else. We used our own fabric design for S. Harris in the dining room above, recreating it as a wallpaper design that will wow family and guests.

Wallpaper that Tells a Story

There are fabulous toiles and patterns that can provide endless style and entertainment! Wallpapers that add visual interest can tell a story about your personality, too. In the Seattle bungalow above, the vintage revival print grabs your attention and makes you want to find every gorgeous detail.

Use these ideas to craft stunning looks on your walls! And if you would love to have a home that’s fearless and functional, give our team a call!
