There is a huge trend emerging in the kitchen, and interiors for that matter! We’ve been seeing it for a while, but copper is making a comeback in a big way. And, it’s hitting the mainstream! From lighting, to cocktail accessories, to kitchen accents… this warm metal is totally tugging at my designer heartstrings.

Would you dare warm up to the copper trend in your kitchen?

Project Process: #QueenAnneCraftsman Wallcovering Installation

We’ve been rockin’ and rollin’ over on our Instagram… So, we figured, why not roll with this whole hashtag thing?! We think it makes it exciting to follow along on the design process of our Pulp Projects before they’re completed and be able to place a photo to a project! You can now follow project process on our Instagram and right here on our blog as we fill you in on, not only completed work, but projects in-process, as well. Without further ado….

A little update on our #QueenAnneCraftsman project:

You may have seen photos of rolls of wall covering as we received custom samples and rolls for installation on our Instagram. If you “oooh’ed and ahhhh’ed” over them the way we did, just wait until you see these beauties installed.

Installation day for the wall covering finally arrived last week at #QueenAnneCraftsman and it was just as amazing as we imagined for this Seattle home! The Entry ceiling is adorned in a graphic and tonal pattern, the powder bath has a pop of personality with a custom colored blowfish wall covering, and the dining room is covered from floor to ceiling in a beaded graphic white wall paper. It’s all to-die-for and just begging to receive all of the lighting and furniture we purchased for this space…

We simply can’t wait until all of the lighting is installed and furniture arrives!

Before & After: Elegant-Mod Kitchen Renovation

Yesterday, we launched our latest project on the Pulp Design Studios site and posted Before & After photos of the Master Suite renovation.

Today, we wanted to share the kitchen with you. It’s amazing what a few small changes will do to completely change the look of a space. Our client’s didn’t want to spend a ton of money on renovating the kitchen, but it needed to flow with the rest of the house. With a few good design decisions, we managed to completely transform this kitchen on a budget.

Take a look at the Before & Afters…

Don’t forget to hop over to the Pulp site to read all about this renovation….

Before + After: Howard Wang’s Southlake

Yesterday we announced Pulp Design Studios’ new Hospitality & Commercial Design Division and shared our first completed restaurant project with you…

Now, for the fun part! We’re sharing some amazing before and afters! We turned a fast-casual restaurant into a fine-dining experience that’s already been coined ‘The Sexiest Restaurant in Southlake’!

See what the space looked like before, and see how we completely redesigned this restaurant, transforming it into a traditional-china-meets-urban-asia dining experience:

As you can see, a full-blown remodel was executed for our client, complete with custom installations and furniture! We’d love if you stopped over to Pulp’s website to read more about how we transformed the space, and see more photos…

Postcards from… all over!

It’s been a while since I’ve checked in to do a ‘postcards from…’ post and let me tell you, it’s been a doozy of a time lately! We’re super busy at Pulp Design Studios, the Pulp Home shop is knocking it out of the park, I’ve been traveling like a mad woman, and I’ve got exciting news to share!

This month started out with our annual trip to the Jersey Shore to spend time with family. I wouldn’t say it was as relaxing as it looked, but it was a great time nonetheless…

I returned back to Seattle with a full plate of design work and project launches! Both our Dallas and Seattle offices are cranking out some amazing designs and it’s been fun (and equally exhausting) to watch our company continue to grow…

And, of course, it was business as usual around the homestead! After some crazy full work weeks, I live for these weekends when we just get to kick back and be silly…

After two short weeks at home in Seattle, I headed back to Dallas (with family in tow) where we signed an amazing new client (who also happens to be a friend)! A fun little tidbit is that she’s the grand-daughter of a former President and First Lady, so we get to get our hands on some presidential pieces to work into the design. Can’t wait to share more on that…

Oh, and one more thing….

To top it all off, I went and got knocked up!

We’re super excited to welcome another little Dotolo in Dec 2013! Just in time for the holidays…. and my birthday… and Max’s birthday…. It’s going to be a crazy time! One of the many reasons that it’s great to have a good partner in business and amazing team to keep things going. And, then it’ll be back to business, as usual, for me in early 2014.

But, for now, we’ve still got much to do and much to accomplish both around the house and in the design studios!

Have a fabulous weekend… you deserve it!

Before + After: An Edgy Ad Executive’s Office

before and after office

One thing you may not know about us, is that our background in design is primarily in commercial, multi-family, and hospitality… Of course, at Pulp we love our residential work, too! But, when we get the chance to work on a commercial interior design project, we jump (for joy)!

We recently worked our magic on this Advertising Executive’s office to make it a space for creative productivity, ambiance, and inspiration! Now that you’ve seen the ‘Before’, which is what you’d expect from a high rise office building… Take a look at the ‘After’:

A pretty stunning overhaul that exudes masculinity, personality, style, and mood. Who wouldn’t love to spend their work day in this space!?

See the rest of the space and read about our design process on the Pulp Design Studios site:
