my new secret weapon :: Mottega

Mottega is a new lighting company that I was introduced to this year in New York, that I immediately knew had a place in my home and in my client’s homes. As a designer, every once in a while a company comes along that you know will make your life and job easier. Mottega is that new go-to vendor!

For me personally, I live in a 1960’s home with a dark den that was begging for a quality lamp that could put out some serious light. I also wanted a lamp that could transition from my ‘first home’ to the home I hope to be living in soon. Mottega completely fit the bill. Take a look above at my new lamp that has made my dark family room a well-lit and stylish space.

First of all, Mottega lamps are completely customizable. A quick visit online and you can select your shape, color, base, finial, and shade! It puts you in complete control of your design. Seriously, go play with their design tool… It’s so much fun! You can see above the design process for the gorgeous lamp I designed for my home, courtesy of Mottega. I was able to see exactly what it would look like before I placed my order and see the exact height and size for placement.

The second reason I am completely smitten with Mottega is the options. They have the most amazing colors available, all of which are the perfect version of each hue. I went with a more nuetral choice for versatility, since I may not be in this home forever. They also have great shade, base, and finial options that can take your lamp from modern to more transitional. It’s the perfect collection for my clients because it allows me to customize the lamp to my client’s style… and most importantly be able to show them what it would look like.

Now, let’s talk about the quality! The pull chain is perfect for ease of use. They have two sockets and two pull chains that allow you to control the light levels. (I only have one of the bulbs on in my photo above… it get’s brighter, which is great for us!) The cord is fabric covered which blends in with the decor. And, you can just see in the details that it’s made with the utmost quality.

I love my new Mottega lamp and I can’t wait to see the different ways I can use this for my clients.

So… I went with a neutral shade. What color would you have chosen??
