Project Progress: #QueenAnneCraftsman First-Floor Partial Install

If you’ve been following us on Instagram, you may have seen some sneak peeks we’ve been posting of our #QueenAnneCraftsman project in Seattle… As promised, we’re popping into the blog to share some snapshots from a recent partial installation of the First Floor. We’ve taken our client’s penchant for modern nautical style and translated it into a pattern-filled, subtly stylish, space that plays off of texture and contrast.

We can’t wait to complete this project and share the rest! But, for now, here’s what Pulp Design Studios has dreamed up so far…

Customized striped chairs from Bernhardt and reimagined by Pulp Design Studios using custom and cleanable trade fabrics and create a modern nautical feel that will stand up to this family’s use.

Pulp designers add personal touches with a hoofed side table and graphic rug.

Tonal graphic wall covering and a sculptural fixture set a modern tone in the dining room.

A Pulp-customized bench with designer fabrics and hand-selected stools make the perfect perch in the Entry to greet guests.

Pulp Design Studios designers added in a pop of orange with custom powder coated barstools and added contrasting black industrial-chic light fixtures for a personal touch to the monochromatic Carrera marble-clad kitchen.

A custom designed computer bench adds another touch of color and pattern to this kitchen, which is geared towards family-friendly living.

And, we just can’t get enough of this Powder Bath… covered to the max with Abnormals Anonymous Mr Blow wallcovering and accented with a new crystal droplet chandelier.

We’re not near complete, but the stage is set for additional layers of lighting, art, and accessories that will make this home unique and perfectly curated to suit the needs of our homeowners.

If you have a space you’d love to get the ‘Pulp treatment’, give us a shout and tell us about your project

Top 5 Hostess Gifts

It hardly seems possible that Halloween is behind us and now the 2013 holiday countdown is on! It won’t be long before the party invites start rolling out and, in addition to playing the hospitable hostess, we want to do our part as the gracious guest. To ensure that your name stays at the top of the best guest lists, we’re rounding up our top 5 hostess gifts.

Top 5 Hostess Gifts

1.) Flowers are a lovely go-to gift but don’t burden your hostess with floral arranging when she’s in the throws of cocktail making. Bring a ready-to-go arrangement in Pulp Home’s Venus Tall Vase and show off your style and thoughtfulness. 2.) Morris Kitchen’s Trio of Seasonal Syrups are an amazing addition to the bar! Perfect in cocktails, boosting up some bubbly, or mixed with soda or tonic for a nifty non-alcoholic option. 3.) The Iacoli & McAllister Hex Opener is a sleek and simple way to say ‘thank you’. 4.) Add to your hostess’ entertaining arsenal with the Glacier Ball which creates a slow-melting ball of ice and prevents watered down drinks. 5.) Agate Platters with Gold Leaf Edge will add a serious dose of glamor to any spread.

Splendid Inspiration: Spiced Pear Cocktail

Good design isn’t just about pretty things. It’s also about function and flow and how we live and work in our spaces. When all of those elements come thoughtfully and creatively together it makes for an inspired lifestyle or what we call “Splendid Living”.Citron Scaled Embroidered Pillow inspires Spiced Pear CocktailThis week has me inspired by the colors of autumn and thoughts of the coming holiday season. Our Citron Scaled Embroidered Pillow embodies the richness of fall but with a fresh contemporary style. It’s graphic, curved lines and golden tones made me think of a beautifully stacked crate of fresh pears and, as luck would have it, this delicious Spiced Pear Cocktail to refresh ourselves after a riotous night of trick or treating!

Cheers to a wonderful weekend!

Nursery Design Giveaway Inspiration + Last Day to Enter!

With our Modern Nursery Giveaway ending at midnight tonight, I thought I’d pop in to share a bit of the inspiration behind our nursery design that Pulp Design Studios created!

Since this is a nationwide giveaway, we wanted to be sure to make the nursery gender neutral. Yet, we wanted a crisp modern edge to the look… gone are the days when ‘gender neutral’ calls for the color yellow! When we partnered with Abnormals Anonymous, we were immediately drawn to their ‘Spot’ wallcovering in ‘bone thugs & harmony’! It was monochromatic and modern, but still had a soft edge.

We played off of the giraffe spots and monotones with a modern geometric from Studio Bon Textiles, an amazing textile studio based in Dallas. The ‘Queen B’ pattern in ‘dove’ was the perfect pairing for this wallcovering and to cover the seat of our infamous ‘Pulp’ chair.

From there we layered the look using furniture from Tottini‘s modern array kid and baby options. And, of course, we added some serious panache with goods and accessories from Pulp Home.

The entire look gives you a modern aesthetic that could work for a girl or a boy! But, either way, this look is setting the bar for a lifetime of style for the wee inhabitant that wins this look.

But, here’s how this all applies to you…

Studio Update: Scheming & Designing

It’s been a busy, busy time for Pulp lately! As you can probably tell from our lack of posts last week, both the Dallas & Seattle offices were fully engaged in Pulp Design Studios‘ project installs, we were processing orders for Pulp Home like crazy, and we were designing up a storm to meet design deadlines…

Here’s a sneak peek at a couple of the projects we were scheming up for our clients. #QueenAnneCraftsman is getting a soothing and dynamic Master Bedroom and #WestSeattleTownhome is getting a stylish and dramatic makeover. We love how bold our clients have been lately, giving us the trust to play with pattern and color.

We’ve been hearing “It’s so us!” or “It’s so me!” a lot lately… It’s so fun when we get to articulate our client’s style when they didn’t know how to get there themselves. Hey, it’s what we do!

We will be popping back in this week for some installation updates… Stay tuned!
